Put your mouse on water, with a straight slope next to the water so you can built a dock. Turn on catchment highlighting. Try to build a dock. Obviously, this will not work since you have the moouse still on the water. Now, move your move one tile on the slope. You will see at the southside of the catchment area gaining +1 tile strip, the northside does not loose a strip, which should. The player thinks he has catchment in that area, but in fact has not.

Btw. if you save your game and reload it, the additional row will be added to the catchment area, just like shown in the preview.
