Clicking on the URLs provided by content authors in the 'Check online content' menu should see that URL opened in the player's web browser.

There are definitely cross-platform ways to do this, too bad I don't know them. Could always ask another open source developer.

Actually, you can already do this. There's a button that says 'visit website' at the bottom. Thanks to frosch123 for pointing this out

But years with graphical, WIMPy ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WIMP_(computing) ) web browsers have taught people to click on links. You should be able to click it anyway, and it will open in your browser.
