Now that OTTD has a built-in text viewer, would it not be an idea to make the readme accesible from within the game? This could be done via the main menu and/or in-game via the ? button on the menu bar (for example). Making the readme more visible to users might help prevent some unnecessary questions on the forum which are usually answered with "see the readme".

Reason for closing:  Won't implement
Additional comments about closing:  As per comment from LordAro - this can't be implemented due to the way OpenTTD is distributed. Thanks for the suggestion.

Very Good Idea!

Something like a "About"-Section comes to my mind, settled in the upper right of the startscreen...

Except the readme contains mainly information about how to get the game running

The average user won't have access to the readme at all until *after* they have installed the game, so I'm not sure what your point is. Most of the information in there should be of use to anyone who is new to the game.
