OpenTTD 0.5.0 brought two new helicopter stations, which are great and extremely handy. Nonetheless, there is a problem which renders those new stations useless: there are too few helicopters. To make matters worse, if a player likes to play throughout the 2100 then those helicopters are rendered obsolete and, due to the fact that there aren't any new helicopters after that, the game is rendered helicopter-free, which sucks.
It would be nice if more helicopters were added to the game. A quick fix, which at least to me makes sense, is to convert the AirTaxi and the Yates Z-Shuttle into vertical take-off vehicles. Heck, the "Z" in "Z-Shuttle" sure implies that. So why not make them work also with helicopter pads ?
If you would like to change properties of vehicles, you are better of doing it via NewGRF.
Even though the names of the planes could suggest they might be vertical take-off vehicles, it does not need to be the case. Z could be the name for a series of airplanes.
