If you load a game, start a new game and join a server pressing the track-icon or pressing the "s" key opens always the normal non-erail tracks, even if you can build erails or "better" tracks until you select the new track-type. This is annoying as you want to extend your game which maybe already have erails, you just building new tracks/stations and dont recognized you are building normal rails instead of erails. So you must convert the new tracks. So if you load/start/join a game the first time you open the rail construction window should choose the lastest available track-type

This should be seen as bug, and should be fixed.

Is laziness a bug?

Do you mean the last track type that you built or the "best" track type (i.e. maglev when it's available, or elrail when you build elrail before saving).

The problem with both cases is that it going to be nasty; even saving the "best" track type is impossible, because when you rejoin you will get the best track type of the local player of the server. The other case is going to always select maglev when it's available, but you still do not use it (yet). Unless the whole map is scanned for the "best" railtype, which won't work for new games.

I mean the "best" track type which is possible atm.. If you code some conditions and patch settings for preselecting the preferred track type (like ["Normal Rail", "Last built", "Best built track", "Best possible type"]) it would be fine but it's enought if it preselects the best possible track type to build, even if there isn't a maglev track/station build yet.
