ThreeNoses opened the ticket and wrote:

Every new game started on any landscape (except toyland) will have this bug: Mail train wagons will instead load gold or diamonds. If the train is in a station with available mail to carry over, none will be loaded.

I was playing with 1.4.4 when I noticed this bug, and I thought updating OpenTTD would fix it so I installed 1.5.2 on top of it but this hasn't fixed anything.

Attached a savegame for a random game I created, and a screenshot of the bug in place.
