has the option of more industries of the same type turned on,
I noticed that Oil Rigs (there are many per one town) take up
usual station names of that town, like first one is Oilfield, the second one is East,
the third Lakeside and so forth.

I would suggest to preserve the nice East and such station names for player's stations
and to name Oil Rigs like so:

  1. Tranpool Oilfield
  2. Tranpool Oilfield # 2
    and so forth. As is with player's station names that are too plentiful - they become # number...

Reason for closing: Won't implement

Thanks for the suggestion SirkoZ. Changing the Oil Rigs specifically is not a current OpenTTD goal.

Possibly in future this can be done with a newgrf, but that needs more control over industry station names. That's been discussed as a goal for OpenTTD, but no work has been completed for it.

Flyspray clean up, so closing this. Thanks.
