As both base sets contain a comprehensive selection of proper currency symbols it makes sense to use them where appropriate, specifically for the Dutch Guilder and Greek Drachma. My patching skills are pretty much nil, but as this is a simple change I've had a go anyway.

Also, I notice that the recently added Lithuanian currency is set to switch to the Euro in 2014. While this isn't necessarily an issue I see that no other currencies have such future dates set, so I've made a patch to remove that as well.

The Drachma symbol appears as a ? when I use Arial. I don't know much about fonts so I don't know why this happens or if it is to be expected with some fonts.

My version of Arial has it, but it's one of those fonts that tends to be preloaded on your pc so I guess it's a question of how new your computer is. You can't expect all fonts to have all characters though, that's a chance you take when using a custom font.

Alberth closed the ticket.

Reason for closing: Won't implement

Currencies should work with the sprite font only, which doesn't have the new currency symbols.
