Right now to close a window, mouse pointer has to be positioned in a small corner of the window, which is difficult and slow.

Windows could be closed with a right mouse click on any place in the window (the same way as in Widelands game). So far I haven't seen right click used for anything else in windows.

Reported version: 1.2.0-beta1
Operating system: All

Right mouse click can be used to show tooltips for buttons in windows. See the setting under Advanced Settings -> Interface.

Good point. Maybe put it as an option?

I agree with Rūdolfs, it would improve gameplay flow. Right now is kind of hard with high resolutions.

Maybe it could close when right clicking/double left clicking the window title bar, so you dont have to look and aim for the small X in the corner.

I too would also like a quick method to close the last opened, or top most, or simply the active window. So I can quickly refer to something and put it away again. The option to pin windows or "close all but pinned (delete)" simply aren't flexible enough.

Maybe a toggle? If I open the map with "M" then I can't hit "M" again, I have to click a tiny little corner button.

Or if I quickly open a list of vehicles with "Shift + F2" I can't simply toggle it off or press a "close window" hotkey but have to find that little corner button to click on.

I created a patch that enables this functionality as this bothers me quite a lot: Many open windows and no way to fast close some of them.
It adds an option that also contains a hint, that this will disable the tooltip right click.

How does this interact with windows that use the RMB, e.g. extra viewports and the map window?

This is handled last. So if no element (like viewports) handled the right click the window will be closed. So pretty much unintrusive
