If I type rescan_ai, some strange things happen. The AI debug window displays something wrong instead of the name of the AI, and OpenTTD eventually crashes to desktop when I select different AIs in the debug window.
I've also found a way to reproduce the crash to desktop:

  1. Open the samegame attached.
  2. Type in 'rescan_ai'
  3. Try to take a screenshot using Ctrl+S. Crash! (at least for me)
