Last night I was thinking about how even with heavy traffic on OpenTTD road vehicles never crash. Now I know that making it so that when vehicles colide with each other is a pain in the butt to code and makes the game too hard (since there's always vehicles traveling at different speeds)
What I was thinking is, what if there's a small chance that once in awhile road vehicles will get into a accident by them selves, most of the time it will just stop the road vehicle for a while and reduce its reliability for a while, but once in awhile it will get into a major accident and will be destroyed beyond repair and thus you will loose the vehicle.
Im not sure how hard it would be to include a trigger to make road vehicles crash at random since I can't code at all (thats why I'm going to College for game design) but I hope that this idea could be included into the game
Greatly reducing the chance of an accident on one way roads would make one way roads much more desirable and useful. Perhaps accidents could also happen when a vehicle overtakes another and there is an oncoming vehicle?
Flyspray clean up: more than 5 years old, and not obvious what should be done with this next, so closing. If this offends, discuss with andythenorth in irc. Thanks.
