As I usually have the 'landscape linked to rail/road/etc' and somewhat recrently the 'r' key have been mapped to a new 'ruler' function, it no longer works to press 'r' to activate the 'remove' tool (remove signals, tracks, station tiles etc).
Then i found the hotkeys.cfg and changed the 'ruler' key (as i never use the ruler) to 'æ' (norwegian 'ae'-combination letter, same as the sweedish ä). But now when i quit the game (either via the menus, or the 'X' in the top right corner) it crashes with this report:
