The bridge speed limits only apply to the head end of trains. As soon as the leading end of the train (ie. the first locomotive) has passed the bridge, the speed is increased to track/maximum speed. Long trains can accelerate to top speed while the rear is still occupying a bridge restricted (for example) to 32 km/h.

Bridge speed limit should apply until the train has in it's entirety cleared the structure, like in real life.

(Personally I consider this a bug)
(running Windows XP SP3)

Reported version: 1.0.5-RC1
Operating system: Windows

This is a tricky one.
We're not sure it is a bug. It is not in the sense that the system works as expected.
And it has always been that way since original TTD.

So therefor, it is either a problem with the logic of the game or a problem with the perception of the intention of the feature.

Just a tiny patch to make train behaviour as requested by Teemu.
Looks quite nice. :)

that looks so simpler than I though...
I see the logic. Nice work.
Now, to find if it can cause problems, in game or in the eyes of the rest of the community :)

This patch makes bridge heads behave differently than the rest of the bridge, or it at least becomes way more apparant. Take a look at the attached savegame with and without your patch to see the difference.
