When the vehicle list is displayed and there are ones with negative earnings the amounts is close to impossible to read. For work I run my screen at a very high resolution so light red on gray is almost impossible to read. Can this colour be adjusted a little to make it easier to read?

Operating system: All

It cannot be changed easily at the moment - the only way that I can figure to change it is by getting the source, editing the file in src/lang/.txt , changing some instance of {RED} with some other color, and re-compiling. The file is partially documented, so you can change all the red you want. I don't have enough experience with the code to tell you which line to change, but just searching for {RED} will eventually take you to it. You may want to change all instances of {RED} with {PURPLE}; it may be better. All your choices are located at the bottom of src/tables/pallettes.h , in case you're wondering.

The contrast does completely suck. I can't think of a solution except changing the window background colour. For those without red-green colour-blindness, red is widely established as 'negative money', so changing the red looks like a poor solution eh?

I mocked up alternatives in photoshop. I tried white and blue. Blue sucks. White is good, but might not be obviously negative.

For the record, I have good vision, and I can't read the red on grey.

Black shadow might be the most pragmatic solution.

Thanks for this. There's been no activity on this for some time, and as it stands, it doesn't look likely that it will go any further. I'm closing it as we try to keep the issue count low for OpenTTD, it helps us focus on things that are important and fun. Feel free to discuss in irc or request re-opening if you disagree. Thanks for contributing!
