As the title says. Going down below sea level.
When the water breaches in a below-sea pool it would of course destroy anything it touches in there (railways, roads, stations...). Pretty much the same as it does now.
The water could progress slowly, same as now, but in cubes rather than squares.

Reported version: 1.0.3
Operating system: All

Nice idea, but it does not exist.
Water is at level 0, and level -1 does not exist at all.

Before adding it, a point to ponder is whether it is worth sacrifying one or more levels of land for it. As for now I see little use for such a level in the game (ie it does not seem to bring new game playing features).
If it is just the for the nice flooding effect (which would cost a lot of new graphics and developer time, and is practically used never), I'd suggest you find a land/sea/water simulator rather than trying to become a transport tycoon.

You could make an under-water tunnel (Channel Tunnel anyone?). The realism fans would be thrilled.
But obviously if it would mean to much work, it's not worth it. Just wanted to put the idea out there.

When I saw in the code that items can be flooded I first looked for the option to raise the sea level. There is none, however you can still build at, but not below, sea level: http://wiki.openttd.org/Scenario:Flevoland

It's also possible to build underwater tunnels, you'll need this patch:

Reason for closing: Won't implement

Thanks for the suggestion. There was a non-zero sea-level patch that explored this. However it adds very little to the transport aspects of the game, and adds a lot of complexity with the terrain and handling flowing water. It's not a current goal for OpenTTD.

Flyspray clean up: more than 5 years old, and not obvious what else can be done with this, so closing. If this offends, discuss with andythenorth in irc. Thanks.
