I noticed when playing with versions of openttd later than 0.7.5 that the trains in NARS would stop adjusting their running cost while running based on whether they were stopped, moving, accelerating, whatever after they had stopped and attempted to pick up a load at a station. After which point the running cost just stays the same.
I have to admit I'm almost curious if it was intended to behave this way anyway because I tried it with the regular trains and their running costs never seem to change at all even with realistic acceleration enabled.
I did a git bisect and found the first bad commit to be svn r18764, this bug is still present in the trunk at the time I tried it. Looking at the diff I couldn't really guess anything off hand of why it's doing this, so I'll leave it to someone who can make more sense of the code than I, as I've never been good at digging into other people's projects.
