If I click 'Giant screenshot', a window should appear asking me if I'm sure.
A misclick could be a disaster on larger maps with a slow computer.
Is there any chance of doing this in 0.7.3 as well?

As for introducing it to 0.7.3, that's not really something that we do, usually. Versions done after initial release (0.7.x) are just bug fixes. That is not a bug indeed.
