It would be great if the below could be implemented in the next release of OpenTTD:

  1. Allow overtaking on bridges

  2. Allow overtaking on 1-way bridges (if not one lane will always be empty)

It would also be awesome if it is possible for vehicles to use both lanes, that would be "revolutionary"..

Overtaking other road vehicles on drive-through stops (if possible)...and on road crossings too (if they wait cargo, or broken)

I always found it weird that they do overtake in some situations and not in others. But not an easy problem to solve.

Thanks for this. There's been no activity on this for some time, and as it stands, it doesn't look likely that it will go any further. I'm closing it as we try to keep the issue count low for OpenTTD, it helps us focus on things that are important and fun. Feel free to discuss in irc or request re-opening if you disagree.
