Currently RVs window and purchase window do not display power, weight, TE, air res. - properties that are defined for realistic acceleration of RVs. Even while realistic acceleration is not implemented, could vehicle window display these properties? I hope these values are available, even if they are not taken into account during movement.

Reported version: trunk
Operating system: All

Can we discuss this in the forums or on IRC?

(1) it could be silly to have realistic acceleration properties displayed when they don't do anything. Won't it lead to more bug reports / questions from players? Plus it makes it look like the problem is solved when it isn't.

(2) the wish to have for 'realistic' acceleration for RVs keeps coming up in newgrf discssions. It could really add to gameplay. 'Realism' wouldn't be the point; enhancing RV gameplay would be.

I know it's a big ask, and that asking doesn't make it more likely to be done ;) And I'd like a pony as well please.

  1. Yes. But it is possible to add a config entry to enable it and disable it by default, so many users would miss it :)
  2. Yes, it is a good thing for high speed vehicles (about 80 km/h) in TTDP, I would like to see it done
  3. If realistic acceleration works for trains, why the same code be used for RVs? AFAIR the only difference is µ, that is 0.3 for rails and 0.9 for asphalt roads. BTW, trams should have the same µ as trains.
