If the reputation in a town is just a little bit over the amount necessary to remove a piece of road, it can happen that you try to remove a road piece, pay the cost for it, but it doesn't actually get removed.

In the attached savegame, the reputation with Kendingtown should be at the right level to make it happen. Try to remove any road piece that the town will normally allow to remove (edge piece). The cost will be displayed and subtracted from your money, but the removing doesn't happen.
