OzTransLtd opened the ticket and wrote:

String code 81 [Print substring (text ID in next 2 bytes of string)] results in 'undefined string' displayed, if imbedded within other text strings; this is the case with all sub-text strings in the range 0xD100 to 0xD3FF range. D000 to D0FF defined and used as sub-text strings do work.

Beware : an empty (null) text strings is valid.
