Please have a look at screenshot 1 The two combo signals in front of the two gates of the trainstation are both green. However, the only path a train could take leads to the next combo signal which is red. Therefore the forst two combo signals should be red as well. If I remove the connection between the two gates, the combo signal on the remaining gate turns red correctly (Screenshot 2). So it seems that the signals are green because they "think" that a train could go straigth from gate 1 to gate 2, but this is not possible.

I vote for this being a feature.

You can't do this
http://openttdcoop.ppcis.org/wiki/index.php/Guides:Priorities
without it.

But in may case it is a bug. On screenshot 1 there's a train coming from the right towards the trainstation. If there's no another train in the station, who wants to leave right now, it will move up to the second combo signal and wait there. But this forbids the incoming train to enter the trainstation and there's a deadlock.

Btw, as I understood the priorities, for them to work it is only important that the combo signals are red if the other (non reachable) combo signal is red. This is absolutely ok. But they should also be red if the other combo is green but not reachable. Such a behaviour will still allow priorities and fix the bug that I've described above.

Remove the depot - I hear there are problems with depots within pre-signal blocks.

Removing the depot doesn't change anything. Screenshot and savegame attached.

The comprimise, if I understand it: Entrance signals are red if [junction not clear] or [all presignal exits are red] or (new) [all (1+) reachable presignal exits are red], otherwise they are green. This should allow both the existing priority junctions as well as the linked one to work, right?

Sounds like a perfect solution.
