A train that unloaded at Doncaster station left behind the graphics of '80% unloaded' with the downward arrow in the main view. It disappeared when I reloaded the game.

I do not see any "Doncaster" station. Maybe it is modified by some newgrfs you are using.

Can you post steps how to reproduce it? (eg. manually sending the train to depot when it is loading or so)

Ive attached a picture of the game hovering over Doncaster station, it was just South of the previous save. Ive no idea how it happened I cant quite remember and may well have been elsewhere on the map at the time. I am almost certain I did not send the train to a depot while it was at the station. The '80%' stayed hovered above the outter (most westernly) platform at Doncaster until quit the game when it had disppeared once I reloaded my saved game. I had left the glitch there for quite a few years before saving the game and quitting in 1938 as I was playing on a train on a laptop and had no internet connection to report the bug immeadiately. I use Windows Vista and the other day when I (think) was alt tabbing around with ottd my taskbar disappeared and other general WinVista terribleness so maybe the glitch could have been related to that? Sorry I cant help futher if you have any ideas of what i could try to reproduce it? I have an earlier saved game to see if it re occurs if that would help?

If we would have any ideas on how to reproduce your issue, the issue would already been fixed. It 'just' happens for 'some' reason (for you). We need a savegame in which the train leaves the loading indicator, otherwise it's unfixable.

Opening the NewGRF window and clicking on 'Apply' will leave the loading indicators stuck in place.
