This may happen when there's a ship line like the one you build and a competitor raises the land. Then your ship will be blocked. By allowing tunnels for ships this won't happen again.

Reason for closing: Won't implement

Although this would be fun, there will be substantial graphical issues: both default and newgrf ships tend towards being much larger than a 1 tile tunnel entrance can be. There is no viable solution to this that isn't too much work for too little benefit.

Flyspray clean up time, no route forward for this, so closing. Thanks.
